We launched 45NORTH from the Artemis boatyard in Leros, Greece April 22nd and after a few days working on boat projects in Lakki town, we headed off for this year's adventures.

Not to worry. This massive container ship was not moving. We radioed a few miles before passing to confirm the Captain had no intentions to move.

May 1-4 in Kalymnos

Many of the small Greek islands have relied on the bounties of the sea. Kalymnos was no different with diving great depths to collect sea sponges.

May 5th we sailed 28NM to an even smaller island Levitha. With a population of a mere 8 people, this family had a large farm with hundreds of goats and some sheep. We had read on Navily that their family run Taverna served amazing dishes.

Baaah. Where is Gary? We saw him heading this way this morning, Baah.

Our first time eating goat. Tasted pretty good.

May 6th - Another 28NM passage to Amorgos and our first Meltemi wind storm over night for this season. One boat beside us drug from one end of the harbour to the other. It was too rough for us to launch Smug Druggler (our tender) at 2am to go over and wake them up. By 5am they awoke and re=anchored.

It is so cool to dine right on the beach and watch the sunsets.

An early 5am departure to sail from Aliki to Naousa on the North side of Paros Island to get ahead of some rougher weather coming in.

May 17th we sailed over to Naxos island. Only an eight nautical mile jaunt. We stayed in the marina for one night. The swell from the large ferry boats was something that we had to have extra dock lines with the large tension springs on to balance 45NORTH.

May 18th we motored North to Mykonos Island. This island has been on my bucket list and it did not disappoint.

Tomorrow we sail to the Delos Island. Good night Mykonos.

A short motor over to Delos Island to explore the famous Apollo Ruins.

Delos is a small, sacred Greek island in the Cyclades, particularly known for being the birthplace of Apollo and his twin sister Artemis in Greek mythology. The island holds immense mythological and archaeological significance, as it was the site of Apollo's sanctuary and a bustling trading port in ancient Greece.

After Delos we headed across the bay to Rineia Island for an afternoon of beach combing. Lots of beach glass, shells and Andrew found a winch handle.

May 22nd - Another calm day as we motored to Syros Island.
